Brian VanOrnum - Assistant Head Coach

Brian grew up in New Jersey and grew up playing basketball, skateboarding, and involved in the Boy Scouts.  When he was 17 years old, he became an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts.  He went to college in York, Pennsylvania and met Hillary in 1998 and they were married in 2001. 

While he was around MMA and BJJ for years, he didn’t think it was for him.  While Hillary was at the gym training, Brian was working on his beer brewing skills.  Brian owned and ran his own nano brewery, Short Snout Brewing from 2007-2014.  He didn’t decide to start training until 2013 when Hillary switched gyms to Impact Jiu Jitsu.  He now wishes that he didn’t wait so long. 

Brian has a bachelor’s degree from York College of Pennsylvania in Communications.
